3、lityisbecomingabigchallengefacingthecurrentIntemet．Besides，theInternetcannotmeettheneedssuchasmobility,securityandmultihoming．MostofthedrawbacksofthecurrentIntemetrootinitsdesigningprinciples，andhamperitslong—termdevelopment．Itisnecessarytofreeourcollectivemindsfromtheconstraintsof

4、thecurrentstateofnetworking,andbuildafutureIntemettogetherwithitsnetworkarchitecture，principles，andmechanisms．Throughin—depthstudyonthedesigningprinciplesofthecurrentIntemet，wecanseethatmanyproblemsarisefromtheoverloadingofIPaddresseswiththesemanticsofboth”who”(endpointidentifier,a

5、susedbytransportlayer)and”where”(10catorsfortheroutingsystem)．Thiskindofoverloadinghashaddeepimplicationsfortheroutingscalability,mobilityandmultihomingofthecurrentInteract．TheflatarchitectureofthecurrentIntemetisanothermainreasonforthemutingscalabilityproblem．Thisdissertationfocus

6、esonthestudyofascalableroutingarchitecturebasedonseparatingandmappingofidentityandlocator．nemainresearchpointsandinnovationsareoutlinedasfollows：(1)anidentity／locatorseparatednetworkarchitecturecalledISMA(IdentifiersSeparatingandMappingArchitecture)isproposed．Thedesigningprinciples

7、andworkingschemesofISMAarepresented．ISMAseparatescustomernetworksfromcorenetworkstrictly,anddecouplesnodeidentitiesfromtheirlocators．Theseparatingandmappingschemeprovidesefficientimprovementsinroutingscalability,mobility,security,locationprivacyandmultihoming．(2)Ascalableroutingarc
