2、nfantsandchildren.Anydelayorfaultofthisfeedingwillleadtomalnutrition.Hence,thepresentstudyhadbeenundertakentoassessknowledgeofurbanadolescentgirlsofUdaipurregardingsupplementaryfeedingofinfants.200urbanadolescentgirlsstudyinginSr.SecondarySchoolsofUdaipurbetween

3、agegroupof14-18yrs.wereselectedforthepresentstudy.Theywerebrieflyintroducedabouttheaimofthestudyandwereaskedsimplequestionsregardingweaningoftheinfantsandchildren.Theobservationswererecordedinprintedprotocolanddataanalysiswasdone.Weobservedthatonly26.5%ofurbanad

4、olescentgirlshadcorrectknowledgeregardingageofstartingweaningfoodsexactlyat6monthsofage.Majoritywereofopiniontostartitafter6months(49.6%),while24%wereofopiniontostartweaningprematurely(before6monthsofage).Only38.5%preferredgivinghousemadethingswhilemajority(61.5

5、%)wereofopiniontooffertinnedcommerciallyavailablemarketpreparations.FeedingwithKatoriandspoonwassupportedby41.5%while58.5%preferredbottlefeedingforweaning.Thegirlsbelongingtojointfamily(71%)withscienceasoptionalsubject(64%)andeducatedparents(60.5%)hadbetterknowl

6、edgeofsupplementaryfoodincomparisontothosewholivedinnuclearfamilies(29%)hadartorcommerceasoptionalsubject(36%)anduneducatedparents(39.5%).Hence,theseadolescentgirlsmustbeimpartedtheknowledgeofsupplementaryfeedingastheyarethefuturemothers.Theschoolcurriculummusti
