4、violentgangsterismculturewithintheuniversity.Passionateaboutanti-imperialismandopposingU.S.interferenceintheCaribbean,heunsuccessfullycampaignedforthepresidencyoftheFederationofUniversityStudentsonaplatformof“honesty,decencyandjustice”.Castrobecamecriticalofthecorr
5、uptionandviolenceofPresidentRamonGrau’sgovernment,deliveringapublicspeechonthesubjectinNovember1946thatreceivedcoverageonthefrontpageofseveralnewspapers.In1947,CastrojoinedthePartyoftheCubanPeople,foundedbyEduardoChibas.Chibasadvocatedsocialjustice,honestgovernment
