3、igated,zinc-platedsteelspecimensweretreatedwithasolutionof50mmol-L-'Ce(NO,),.Thecorrosionbehaviorofbareandtreatedmildgalvanizedsteelwasevaluatedduringexposureto0.5molL-'NaClfordifferentimmersiontime,usingTafelpolarizationcurvesandelectrochemicalimpedancespectroscopy(EIS)measurements.Thesurfa
4、cemorphologyofthecoatingwasstudiedusingscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM).ThecompositionandchemicalpercentofthecoatingwereexaminedbyX-raydispersionenergy(EDAX).Theresultsofthesemeasurementsshowedthatthenewlydevelopedcerium-basedconversioncoatingprocesswasapromisingcandidateforreplacingtheconven
