JaneAusten(1775-1817),whowasbornatSteventononDecember16,1775,wasoneofthegreatestnovelistsinEngland.Shewastheyoungestofsevenchildreninherfamily.Shereceivedmostofhereducationathome.Herfamilyareallfondofreadingbooks,whichinfluencedherverymuch.Herreadingextendedlittlebeyondtheliteratureoftheeighteenthcentury,andwithinthatperiodsheadmiredDr.Johnsonparticularly.AndlatershewasdelightedwithboththepoetryandproseofScott.ShediedonJuly18,1817,andwasburiedinthecathedralinWinchester.Shetotallywrotesixnovelsinherlife.Amongthesixnovels,PrideandPrejudicehasbeenvaluedasthemostsuccessfulandpopularmasterpiece.Inthisnovel,JaneAustenmainlydescribedtheordinarylifeoftheBennets.Shetoldus fourdifferentmarriagestoshowthereadersthatdifferentpeoplehavedifferentattitudestowardslove.Andalsosheexpressedherownviewpointsonmarriagethatacombinationbasedonloveandsimilarinterestsisahappyandperfectmarriage.Inheropinion,themoney-orientedmarriageandsex-orientedmarriagearenotsuccessfulalthoughthepeoplecanlivetogether.Thethemeisnarrow,butsheshowedusabeautifultableauoftheEnglandpeople’slifeofherowntime.Itseemsthatshehadatalenttodescribetheordinarylifeofpeople.2.Thepursuitofequalmarriage,againstthetraditionalbound 3.OutstandingreflectiveabilityIn18thcentury,women'sstatusisintheunderground,sothattheycannotobtainofequivalentofmalestudentseducation.Middleclassyoungladyonlywasalwaysemphasizedstudingeachkindoftalentandskill.Thenormsofwomeninsociety,amajorityofthewomenunderpressureinagentleignoranceconservativeasavirtue,atthattimethestandardsdonothaveamajorityoffemaleorlackthecapacitytomakeajudgmentonthematter.Elizabeth'ssisterandDarcy’sfriendBentleyfellinloveatfirstsight.ButBentley’stwofalsesisterswasfriendlytoJaneonthesurface,secretlyunderminethem.GoodandsoftJanewaskeptinthedark,Elizabethwasabletoseethroughtheirplot.Becauseofherintelligentthoughtandobservation,sooncesheacceptedthecorrectinformation,shecanmadeaccuratejudgments.ThisisalsoreflectedinthestorythatherattitudetowardstoDarcyandMr.Wickham’simpressionbeforeandafterthechange.Mr.WickhamwasanimproperbehaviourofPlayboy,infrontofElizabeth,hefabricatedfactsandvilifyDarcy,coupledwithDarcyattheballleavinganarrogantimpressiononElizabeth,causingElizabethtohavetheprejudicetoDarcy.Darcylaterwrotealettertoexculpatehimself,Elizabethreceivedlettersfromreadingandthinkingbehindevents,combiningwiththebehaviorandthetwopeople’sconductingtointegratejudgment.Thistimewashertransformationfromknewotherstoknewherself.Elizabethfullydecideinherownindependentjudgmentandreflection,andJanewasalwayslackofdiscernment,showingthedependenceofwomenonthepersonality.Elizabeth'syoungersisterMary,althoughwell-educated,wasactuallyahumanwhostodgyalsothoughtherselfclever.WhenElizabethknewJaneatNetherfieldguestwasill,shedecidedtovisitheronfoot,butMaryisnotinfavour.WilliamCollinsappearsinfrontofthepeple,Maryconfirmedforhimwasagoodmarriagepartner.Austinsetthisfiguredirectlyreflectsonthe18thcentury,womenwithoutconsciousnessofthespiritualworld,showastrongdependence,ignoringapersonshouldbebornwiththemainbodyoftheright.Incomparison,Elizabeth'sprincipalconsciousnessappearedtobeparticularlyvaluable,andshewasawarethatshewasnotdependentupontheobject,butofequalitywithmenofanothertheme.ConclusionAccordingtotherelationshipbetweenElizabethandDacy,loveandsimilarinterestsarethebasicfactorsofasuccessfulandhappymarriage.Withmanysimilaritiesincharacter,peoplecanunderstandeachothereasily.Mostimportantofall,thecouplewithsimilarinterestscanlivetogetherwithahappy life,becausethereareunderstandings,helpsandsupportingbetweenthem.Theydon’tcarethedefectsoftheirpartnersandeventheydon’tseeanyfaultsineachother.Justastheoldsayinggoing,“Birdsofafeatherflocktogether,peopleofamindfillintothesamegroup.”Austininthenoveltakethemarriageasthereferencesubstance,demonstratedthefemininedisadvantageousstatus,inadditiontohistoricalreasons,anotheristhefemaledoesnothavetheindependentconsciousness.Bibliography
