3、ngofcomplexshapegeometries,conventionalmachiningprocessarenowbeingreplacedbynon-traditionalmachiningprocesses.WireEDMisoneofthenon-traditionalmachiningprocesses.Surfaceroughnessandkerfwidthareofcrucialimportanceinthefieldofmachiningprocesses.ThispapersummarizestheGreyre
4、lationaltheoryandTaguchioptimizationtechnique,inordertooptimizethecuttingparametersinWireEDMforSS304.Theobjectiveofoptimizationistoattaintheminimumkerfwidthandthebestsurfacequalitysimultaneouslyandseparately.Inthispresentstudystainlesssteel304isusedasaworkpiece,brasswir
5、eof0.25mmdiameterusedasatoolanddi16,orthogonalarrayhasbeenused.Theinputparametersselectedforoptimizationaregapvoltage,wirefeed,pulseontime,andpulseofftime.Dielectricfluidpressure,wirespeed,wiretension,resistanceandcuttinglengtharetakenasfixedparameters.Foreachexperiment
6、surfaceroughnessandkerfwidthwasdeterminedbyusingcontacttypesurfcoderandvideomeasuringsystemrespectively.Byusingmultiobjectiveoptimizationtechniquegreyrelationaltheory,theoptimalvalueisobtainedforsurfaceroughnessandkerfwidthandbyusingTaguchioptimizationtechnique,optimize
