3、favarietyofsuchquestions.Thishasbeendonewithinthecontextoftwoconstraints;theuseofpopular,commerciallyavailablecomputer-aidedassessment(CAA)software,specificallyQuestionMarkPerceptionandHalf-BakedHotPotatoes,andtheassumptionoflimitedlearningtechnologistsupport.Itexamines
4、theproblemsinherentinthedesignofobjectivequestionsforHLO’s(specificallyatthelevelsofApplication,AnalysisandEvaluation)andintroducesaframeworkbywhichsystematicdesignmaybecarriedout.Itexaminesthemodeofdesign,constructionandevaluationof22suchobjectivequestionsdevisedforfor
5、mativeassessmentfortwopost-graduatecourseunitsinInformationSystems,involvingtwogroupsofstudents,37intotal.TheresultsfromthetrialingofthesequestionsraisesissuesofcrucialdifferencesinCAAsoftwareforfeedback,scoringanddelivery.Thepaperexamineskeystatisticalindicatorsofquest
6、ionquality(facilityanddiscriminationindices),aswellastheresultsofinterviewswithstudents,todrawnconclusionsaboutthebestuseofquestiontypes,studentpreparationfortests,anddiscusseskeyissuesinquestionpreparation.Itconcludeswithanexaminationofthemainadvantagesanddisadvantages
