5、ND-TUBEHEATEXCHANGERSolvedwithCOMSOLMultiphysics4.3bTheheatexchangerismadeofstructuralsteel.Theparticipatingfluidsarewaterflowingthroughthetubesideandairflowingthroughtheshellside.Thebafflesintroducesomecross-flowtotheairandsuchincreasingtheareaofheatexchange.Anotheradvantageisthatbaffl

6、esreducevibrationduetothefluidmotion.ThismodelusestheNon-IsothermalFlowuserinterfacetogetherwiththek-εturbulencemodel.Ittakesadvantageofsymmetriestomodelonlyonehalfoftheheatexchanger,therebyreducingmodelsizeandcomputationalcosts.BOUNDARYCONDITIONSAllheatexchangerwallsincludingthebaffles

7、aremodeledasshellsin3D.Thisrequiresspecialboundaryconditionsfortheflowandheattransportequations.Theinteriorwallboundaryconditionfortheflowseparatesthefluidsfromeachotherandisalsousedtodescribethebaffles.Onbothsides,itappliesthewallfunctionsneededforsimulatingwallswiththek-εturbulencemod
