2、tedifferentfromthatatnanoscale.Atmacroscale,tribochemistryusuallyoccursbetweenlubricantandfrictionsurfacesintherunning-inprocessduetoahighcontactpressure,andmostsuchprocessescanleadtofrictionreduction.Inthepresentwork,wereportedthatthehydrogenionsinaqueoussolution
3、playedanimportantroleintribochemistryinrunning-inprocess(frictionreducingprocess),whichcouldresultinthefrictioncoefficientreducingfrom0.4to0.04betweenSi3N4andglasssurfacesatmacroscale.Itisfoundthattherunning-inprocessandlowfrictionstatearecloselydependentontheconce
4、ntrationofhydrogenionsinthecontactregionbetweenthetwofrictionsurfaces.Thelubricationmechanismisattributedtotribochemicalreactionoccurringbetweenhydrogenionsandsurfacesintherunning-inprocess,whichformsanelectricaldoublelayerandhydrationlayertolowerfrictionforce.Fi
5、nally,therunning-inprocessofH3PO4(pH=1.5)wasinvestigated,whichcouldrealizesuperlubricitywithanultralowfrictioncoefficientofabout0.004.14−161.INTRODUCTIONafterarunning-inperiod.ApossiblemechanismisthetribochemicalreactionofsiliconnitrideorsiliconcarbidewithInvestiga
6、tionsonthefrictionbehaviorsofanaqueoussolutionconfinedbetweentwocontactingsurfacesareveryimportanttowater,whichcannotonlyformasmoothsurfacefordevelopawater-basedlubricantthatwouldbeaneffectivewayhydrodynamiclubrication,butcanalsoproducecolloidalsilica17topartiallys
