2、ne29June2007AbstractInrecentyears,lithiumbis(oxalato)borate,LiB(C2O4)2(LiBOB)hasbeenproposedasanalternativesalttothecommonlyusedelectrolyte,LiPF6.ThereisevidenceoftheenhancedstabilityofLi-ionbatteryelectrodesinsolutionsofthissalt,duetoauniquesurfacechemistrydevelopedinLiBOBsolutions

3、.ThepresentstudyisaimedatfurtherexploringtheelectrochemicalandthermalpropertiesofLiBOBsolutionsinmixturesofalkylcarbonateswithnon-activemetal,graphiteandlithiumelectrodes.FTIRspectroscopy,XPS,EQCM,insituAFMimaging,andDSCwereusedinconjunctionwithstandardelectrochemicaltechniques.Thes

6、senceofHFinsolutionshasadetrimentalimpactconductivity(>10mScm−1),anditdoesnotsignificantlyaffectonthesurfacechemistryofbothanodesandcathodes.Itbadlytheelectrochemicalwindowsofitssolutions,whichareusuallyaffectsthepassivationofgraphiteelectrodes[7]andpromoteslimitedbysolventreactions(
