2、edwithaparticulardesirablemorphology.WhileFlory–Hugginstheorycorrectlypredictsthatliquid-statepolymersgenerallydonottendtomix,itspredictiveabilityfordesigningthesenewmaterialsareratherlimited.Thus,inordertorectifythisdeficiencyinthetheory,severalapproacheshaveb

3、eenusedtodevelopmoreambitioustheories,whileexperimentaleffortshavebeendevotedtodevisingvariousstrategiesforimprovingmixingincluding,forin-stance,theuseofflow,asdescribedinthearticlebyClarkeinthisvolume.Thus,progressinelucidatingthefactorsaffectingandpromotingbl

4、endmiscibilityhasbenefitedfromstronginteractionsbetweenexperimentalandtheoreticalgroups,asemphasizedbythearticlesherein.ThesubjectofthephasebehaviorofpolymerblendsisquitevastandmuchtoolargetofitinasinglevolumeofAdvancesinPolymerScience,sothepresentvolumeisthefirs
