2、dsealingcapacityofthreadedpipeconnections(1”APILinePipe).Numericalsimulationsareperformed®©usingAbaqusincombinationwithThreadGen.Thefatiguelifeofathick-walledstandardcouplingisdeterminedusingafour-pointbendingtest.ThecorrespondingS-Ncurveiscomparedtoresultsofpreviousworkonthin-walle
3、dspecimens.Itcanbeconcludedthatthestandardthick-walledconnectionhasahigherfatiguelifethanthin-walledones.Infuturework,thepredictionoffatiguelifeusingestablishedmulti-axialcriteriawillbeevaluated.Further,thesealingcapacityofseveralcouplingswillbeinvestigatedbysubmittingthemtodifferen

5、ningtubularpipeshavebeenusedextensivelyinapplicationssuchasdownholecasing,drillpipestringsandTLPtendons.AnAPIlinepipeconnectionconsistsofamalemember,alsoknownasthepin,whichismadeupintoafemalepart,alsoknownasthebox.Theyhavetheadvantagethattheycanbeeasilycoupledanduncoupled.Inoffshore
6、applications,connectionscanbesubjectedtocyclicloads,e.g.whendrillingdeviatedwellsorduetomovementofoilplatforms.Incaseofrisersanddrillpipes,fatigueisoneofthemostimportantfailuremodes.Sincethehigheststressconcentrationoccursattherootofthelastengagedthread(LET,Figure1)ofthepin,fatiguec
