4、speech,anduncontrolledvocabulary.Theserequirementscanonlybeapproximatedwiththecurrentlyavailablespeechrecognitiontechniques.Furthermore,suchrequirementsdemandamultidisciplinaryapproachfromareaslikesignalprocessing,patternrecognition,andlinguistics.Inordertocoordinatethese

5、approachesandtobeopenforfurtherdevelopmentsintheseareas,aspeechrecognitionarchitecturehasbeenintroducedandthiswillalsobepresented.1IntroductionSpeechisthemostnaturalandconvenientwayforhumanstoexchangeinformation.Incontrasttotyping,speechcommunicationrequiresnospecialskill

6、s.Theaimofspeechrecognition(SR)istocreatemachinesthatcanreceivespokeninformationandrespondappropriatelytothatinformation.Suchmachinesapproximatehumanscommunication.Writtenlanguageisderivedfromspeechandislikespeechitselfhumanculture.Today,mosttextdocumentsarecreatedandstor

7、edelectronicallythereforehandwritinghasbeenreplacedbytypingbutbothrequirestheknowledgeofawrittenlanguage.FromtheviewofComputingScientists,writingcanberegardedasaspecialtechniqueforstoringinformation.Ifanidealspeech-to-texttranslatorwouldexistthenawrittenlanguagewouldlosei
