1、ABSTRACTCognitiveResearchOnCoreCompetenceofPrivateCollegesWiththepopularizationofhighereducationandtheopeningofhighereducationservices，China’Sprivmecollegesfaceincreasinglyfiercemarketcompetition．Whileprivatecollegesalsofacetheirownseriesofproblemsinprocessofth

2、eirdevelopment．Theauthorbelievesthatthesurvivalanddevelopmentofprivatecollegesishowtomaintainthecompetitiveadvantageandhowtoimprovetheircorecompetence．Throughquestionnaires，interviews，brainstorming，Delphi，weobtainedthat：privatesystem，educationalresources，manage

3、mentandoperationalcapabilities，organizationalstructureandthecollegecultureisthecorecompetenceofChina’Sprivaecollegesconstituentelements．Wecanalsoprecipitateaprivateuniversitytojudgeaseriesofcoreindicatorsofcompetencefromtwodimensionsof”resourceinput”and”running

4、output”，includingschoolfacilities，equipments，books，funding，students，teachers，policypriorities，students’performance，thefullemploymentlevelofthestudents，alumniachievements，researchresults，socialfame，etc．Onthesefoundations，webuiltthecorecompetencemodelofprivatecol

5、leges．Inthissystem，educationalresources(includingfinancialresources，humanresources，policyresources)，¨managementofoperationalcapacity(includingfund—raisingability,employability,teaching)arekeyindicatorsofcorecompetenceofprivatehighereducation．Thismodelprovidesan
