3、lopingcountrieslacktechnologycapabilityandFDItofacilitatetechnologytransferandreducethetechnologygap(TGAP)betweendevelopingcountriesanddevelopedcountries.Infact,itissuggestedthatspilloversortheexternaleffectsfromFDIarethemostsignificantchannelsforthedisseminationofmodern
4、technology(Blomstrom,1989).FDIhasinnumerableothereffectsonthehostcountry’seconomy.Itinfluencestheincome,production,prices,employment,economicgrowth,developmentandgeneralwelfareoftherecipientcountry.Itisalsoprobablyoneofthemostsignificantfactorsleadingtotheglobalizationof
5、theinternationaleconomy.Thus,theenormousincreaseinFDIflowsacrosscountriesisoneoftheclearestsignsoftheglobalizationoftheworldeconomyoverthepast20years(UNCTAD,2006).Therefore,wecanconcludethatFDIisakeyingredientforsuccessfuleconomicgrowthindevelopingcountries,becausethever
6、yessenceofeconomicdevelopmentistherapidandefficienttransferandadoptionof“bestpractice”acrossborders.Ontheotherhand,ingeneral,foreigninvestorsareinfluencedbythreebroadgroupsoffactors:(1)Theprofitabilityoftheprojects.(2)Theeasewithwhichsubsidiaries’operationscanbeintegrate
7、dintoinvestors’globalstrategies.(3)Theoverallqualityofthehostcountry’senablingenvironment(ChristiansenandOgutcu,2002).AlargenumberofstudieshavebeenconductedtoidentifythedeterminantsofFDIbutnoconsensushasemerged,inthesensethatthereisnowidelyacceptedsetofexplanatoryvariabl
