3、ondition.Theseinclude:batterystate-of-charge,powerfade,capacityfade,andinstantaneousavailablepower.Theestimationmechanismmustadapttochangingcellcharacteristicsascellsageandthereforeprovideaccurateestimatesoverthelifetimeofthepack.Inaseriesofthreepapers,

4、weproposemethods,basedonextendedKalmanfiltering(EKF),thatareabletoaccomplishthesegoalsforalithiumionpolymerbatterypack.Weexpectthattheywillalsoworkwellonotherbatterychemistries.Thesepaperscovertherequiredmathematicalbackground,cellmodelingandsystemidenti
