3、etwofloralmorphsandthebehaviorsofstylarmovementsinthetwofloralmorphsaresimilartothosefoundinotherspeciesofAiapreviouslyreported.However,thestylarmovementbehaviorofthecataflexistylousmothis2hslowerthanthatoftheananexistvlOusmorph.Therearesomeasynchronousstyla
4、rmovementsonthesamefloralmorph,evenonthesameinflorescence.Yet,allanthersoftheanaflexistylousfloralmorphsdehisceonlyafterallstigmasofthesamephenotypehavemovedoutofthereceptiveposition。viz.,abovetheanthers.Ourresultsindicatethattheanaflexistylousmorphhasmorepo
5、llengrainsperflower。higherpollen/ovuleratio(P/O),andlargernectarvolumethanthecataflexist3rlousmorph.whileapproximatelyequalovulenumbers,sugarandaminoacidconcentration.Fieldexperimentsindicatethatthefruitsetsaresignificantlyhighinbothartificiallyout—crossedan
6、dself-pollinatedflowers,whilenofruitsetwasobservedinbaggedemasculatedflowersandtheunpollinatedbaggedflowers.ThesefactsexhibitthatA.hainanensisisself-compatibleandthereisnoself-pollinationandagamospermyinthespecies.Therearesignificantdiferencesinthefruitsetsa
7、mongtheanaflexist3rlousflowerswithhand—pollinationtreatmentsatdiferenttimesduringtheday,butnotinthecataflexistylousflowers.Thefruitsetbyhandpollinationismuchhigherthanthatundernaturalcondition.ThismeansthatA.hainanensisisdependentuponinsectsforpolfination.an
8、dinsufficiencyofpollinatorslimitedfruitsetundernaturalcondition.TheefectivepollinatorswereAmegllasp.andtwospeciesofcarpenterbees(Xylocopasp.).However,onlyfewerinsectsatalowerfrequencyvisitedflow
