7、定西市处于甘肃中部,故称“陇中”,东接天水、西靠兰州、北邻白银,南连陇南,并与甘南、临夏接壤,具有承东启西,南连北展的区位优势。全市辖安定、通渭、陇西、临洮、渭源、漳县、岷县1区6县,119个乡(镇),总人口296万人,总面积2.03万平方公里。耕地772.28万亩,人均耕地面积2.61亩。气候属温带半湿润和中温带半干旱区,东南暖湿气流受阻,大陆性气候明显,年平均气温5.7—7.7℃,年总降水量400—600mm。定西是古“丝绸之路”重镇,素有“甘肃咽喉,兰州门户”之称,现在是东西大通道的必经之地,陇海铁路和310、312、316、212等国
