4、ndtestresultsofvariousshot-peenedmetals,thecapabilityoffivesolutionsincludingempiricalequations,theoreticalmodelsandFEMmodelsforpredictingthecharacteristicparametersofresidualstressfieldwasproved.TheempiricalequationsofYaohadgoodpredictionsfor40Crsteelandother

5、similarsteels,andtheempiricalequationsofWangwerecapableofvariousmetalswhiletheoreticalmodelsweresuitableformetalswithmediumstrengthandhardeningrate.Thepredictingresultsofsingle-shotFEMmodelsforcalculatingthepeeningdentsdiametersandmulti-shotFEMmodelsforcalcula

6、tingtheresidualstressfieldwereingoodagreementwithtestresultsofvariousmetalswithdifferentshot-peeningcoverage.Inpractice,combinationsofthesemethodswereneeded.Secondly,tostudythebehaviorandthethreedimensionalstressintensityfactorsofsubsurfacecracks,thecrackbodyw
