2、tutearepleasedtopresenttheresultsoftheSecurityofCloudComputingProvidersStudy.Thispaperisthesecondinatwo-partseriesaboutthestateofsecurityinthecloud.ThefirststudyreleasedinMay2010wasentitled,SecurityofCloud1ComputingUsers.Thepurposeofbothstudiesistolearnhowusersandprovidersofcloudcomp

3、utingapplications,infrastructureandplatformsareaddressingtheneedtosafeguardinformationinthecloud.InPartsIandIIofthisreport(ExecutiveSummaryandKeyFindings),wepresenttheresultsofthecloudproviderstudy.InPartIII,wecompareandanalyzetheresultsofthecloudproviderandclouduserstudies.Cloudcomp

4、utinghasbeendefinedastheuseofacollectionofdistributedservices,applications,informationandinfrastructurecomprisedofpoolsofcomputer,network,informationandstorageresources.Thesecomponentscanberapidlyorchestrated,provisioned,implementedand2decommissionedusinganon-demandutility-likemodelo

5、fallocationandconsumption.CloudservicedeliverymodelsareSoftwareasaService(SaaS),PlatformasaService(PaaS)andInfrastructureasaService(IaaS).Wesurveyed103cloudserviceprovidersintheUSand24insixEuropeancountriesforatotalof127separateproviders.RespondentsfromcloudproviderorganizationssaySa

6、aS(55percent)isthemostfrequentlyofferedcloudservice,followedbyIaaS(34percent)andPaaS(11percent).Sixty-fivepercentofcloudprovidersinthisstudydeploytheirITresourcesinthepubliccloudenvironment,18percentdeployintheprivatecloudand18percentarehybrid.Cloudcomputingproviders:Mostsalientfindi
