4、rogramsusethememorysystemandproces-thecharacteristicsofdifferentoperatingsystemsrunningonsorbrancharchitecture.Weshowthatthedesktopappli-topoftheIntelx86processorsusingperformancecounters.cationshavesimilarcharacteristicstotheintegerSPEC95[Perl&Sites96]havemeasuredthememory
5、performancebenchmarksformanyofthesemetrics.However,comparedofthreeWindowsNTapplications(aSPECapplication,atotheintegerSPEC95applications,desktopapplicationscompilerback-endandadatabaseapplication)runningonhavelargerinstructionworkingsets,executeinstructionstheDECAlphaplatfo
6、rm.However,noclearpictureoftheinagreaternumberofuniquefunctions,crossDLLbound-executioncharacteristicsofdesktopapplicationsrunningonariesfrequently,andexecuteagreaternumberofindirectWindowsNTonthex86-platformhasbeenpublished.calls.Thispapermakestwocontributions.First,itchar
