3、eandfrequencydomain.Mostofthesystemshavea“bursty”useofthetimedomain,meaningthattheytransmitinshortburstsandkeepquietinbetweeneachburst.Fortheuseofthefrequencydomainthereareinmajorthreedifferentwaysasystemcanoperate:xFixedsinglechannel(Lowcomplexity)xDynamicchannelassigning(Mediumc

4、omplexity)xFrequencyhopping(Highcomplexity)Afixedsinglechannelsystemistypicallyasystemwheretheunitsdonothavethepossibilitytonegotiatewhichchanneltheyshalluseordistributeacommonsystemclock.Normallythiswillbeasystemwithatransmitterinoneendandareceiverintheother.Suchasystemwillbeable

5、tousedifferentchannels,butthechannelforoperationwillbeselectedonceatstart-up.Anexampleofsuchasystemisawirelessmouse.Dynamicchannelassignmentisamethodwhereallunitsinvolvedmusthaveatransceiver.Thisenablesthepossibilityforthereceivingunittoacknowledgeallreceivedpackets,whichwillmaket

6、hetransmittingunitabletodetectpacketlossandinitiateare-transmissionofthelostpacket.Itwillalsomakethesystemabletocalculatethepacketlossratio(PLR.)AndthesystemcanbemadesothattheunitschangetrafficchannelifthePLRreachesagiventhreshold.Thechannelchangeplancanbeimplementedasatableorasa“
