3、ystemthatsupportshighbitratewirelessmultimediaapplications.InadditiontoUMTS,HSDPA-basedUMTSnetworksimprovetheinitialUMTSnetworksintermsofradioresourceallocationanddatatransferperformances.Duetothecomplexityofsuchsystemanddifficultyofaccesstotherealsy

4、stem,itisveryimportanttohaveareliablesimulationtoolforperformanceevaluationanddevelopmentofnewsolutions.Inthispaper,amoduleforend-to-endUMTSHSDPA-basedsimulationforQoSevaluationisused.TheEnhancedUMTSRadioAccessNetworkExtensions(EURANE)providedUMTSand

5、HSDPAsupportintheNetworkSimulator(NS-2).ThesimulatorcanevaluateparametersassociatedwithEnhancedUMTSperformance(end-to-enddelay,jitter,throughput)toassesstheimpactofnewprotocolsandarchitectures.Performanceevaluationconductedinthispapercapturestheperfo
