4、tivemechanismofthemeaningconstructionprocessofit,theresearchoffersanewperspectiveforGuoDegang’scrosstalkandtheresearchofpun.Inthemeanwhile,italsoteststhegreatexplanatorypoweroftheConceptualIntegrationTheoryandenrichestheresearchontheConceptualIntegrationTheory.Duringtheresearch
5、,twoquestionsarise:1)WhycanpunsinGuoDegang’scrosstalkachievecertainlanguageeffectssuchashumorouseffects,thought-evokingeffects?2)HowarepunsinGuoDegang’scrosstalkusedtoachievecertainlanguageeffectsinthemeaningconstructionprocess?Inexploringtheanswerstothesequestions,theresearchl
6、aysgreatemphasisonthestudyofthemeaningconstructionprocessofpunsinGuoDegang’scrosstalkfromtheperspectiveoftheConceptualIntegrationTheory.Inordertofacilitatethestudy,punisclassifiedintothreetypes,namelyphoneticpun,lexicalpunandgrammaticalpun.Whileintheformationofpuntherearethreeb
