2、entstatusoftheRulesisthatthetexthasbeencompletedinfinalformandwillnotnowbemodifiedagain.Onceaconventionhasreachedthatstage,itcanusuallybemodifiedonlybythestatespartiesagreeinganewProtocol(Art95).TheRotterdamRulesaresimilartotheHagueTheHagueRules,Hague-VisbyRulesandreceiptand/orth

3、eportofloadingand/ortheRules,theHague-VisbyRulesandtheHamburgRulesmustbedenouncedbyaplaceofdeliveryand/ortheportofdischargeHamburgRulesinthattheyaimtofulfilstatewhichsignsuptotheRotterdamRules,isinacontractingstate(Art5).roughlythesamefunction:tosecuresothatinprincipleanyonestate

4、willapplyuniformitybywayofpredictablecontentinonlyonesetofrulesatanygiventime.TheRotterdamRulesthemselvesspecifythatcontractsforthecarriageofgoodsbysea,theyapplyto‘contractsofcarriage’asdefinedwhileprovidingathresholdlevelofEveniftheConventiondoesenterintoforce,byArticle1.Thisisa
