4、ationsviaexistingindustrialapplicationsoftwaredenominatedGEO4.Thissoftwarecomputestheload-displacementcurveofthepile’shead,plusthedistributionofnormalandshearforcesalongthepile’sshaft.Itwasassessedhereinonapioneerresearchbasis,sinceitwasnevertestedagainst
5、experimentalresultsfromdeepfoundationsofBrazil–inparticularfoundedon“nonclassical”soildeposits.ItalsopresentsexperimentalresultsfromfieldloadingtestscarriedoutwithdistinctfoundationsfoundedintropicalstratifiedsoilsoftheFederalDistrictofBrazil.Thecurvesofp
6、ileloadversusdisplacement,andloadtransferalongthepile’sshaftarepresented,discussed,andnumericallysimulatedbyasemi-analyticalprocedure,togetherwiththedescriptionofthegeotechnicalcharacteristicsofthreedistinctchosensitesofthisDistrict.Valuesofskinfrictionan
7、dbasepressureareadditionallypresentedandcomparedtonumericalpredictions.Itisconcludedthatthissoftwarehassuccessfullyaidedtheanalysis,demonstratingitslargepotentialforfutureapplicationinBrasíliaaswellasotherregions.Theanalysesalsodemonstratedthatdifferences
