1、AbstractAbstractAlongwiththeincreasinglydevelopmentofeconomyandsociety,thedemandofrateandcoverageofthewirelessnetworkhasbecomeincreasinglyhigh.WiMAX,atechnologythatcanprovide“thelastmile”access,canprovidepeoplehigherrateandbiggercoverage.Itisboundtoachieverapiddevelopment.Intermsofre
2、sourceallocation,IEEE802.16Standardsdefinestwomodesofmeshnetwork:centralizedschedulinganddistributedscheduling,anddefinestheframeformatandtheframeworkofwirelessscheduling.However,thisStandarddoesnotexplicitlypointoutthespecificschedulingalgorithm.Moreover,theschedulingalgorithmplaysa
3、veryimportantroleintheresourceallocationofanetworkandinfluencestheperformanceofanetworkheavily.Therefore,astudyontheschedulingalgorithminmeshnetworksbecomesverymeaningful.Currently,researcheson802.16schedulingalgorithmmainlyfocusonasinglechannel,fewhavedoneonmulti-channelsystem.Inasi
4、ngle-channelsystem,onlytimeslotsareavailableforallocationandthedesignofalgorithmisrelativelysimple.However,inthemulti-channelsystem,thenetworkresourcesavailableforallocationcontainstimeslotsandchannels.Thus,thedesignofalgorithmismorechallenging.ThispaperfocusesontheWiMAXmeshnetworkan
5、dstudiestheproblemofresourceallocation.Then,basedonthesummaryofexistingachievements,weproposeanewschedulingalgorithm.Thealgorithmsrunninginthebasestation(BS)distributechannelsandtimeslotsforthesubscriberstations(SSs)ineachschedulingperiodaccordingtotherequestsofeachSS.Bybuildingsimul
6、ationplatformonNS2andsimulatingoperationofWiMAXnetwork,weverifytheperformanceoftheproposedalgorithm.Further,wecomparetheresultswiththeexistingalgorithmsanddemonstratethatthenewalgorithmisbetterthantheexistingalgorithmsintheschedulinglength,channelutilizationandotherindicators.Keyword
