9、heusercommunicatemorenaturallywiththesystem.Valenceisameasurementwhichisoftenusedtoevaluateemotioninpsychology.Anditcanbeusedtolabeldifferentemotionstate,e.g.joyandsadnessaretotallydifferentinvalence.Wetrytoestimatetheuser'svalencebycarryingoutavisual-evo

10、kedrecognitionexperiment.Westimulatedthesubjectbyfacialpictureswithjoyfulandsadexpression,andrecordedtheEEGmeanwhile.Byapplyingsomemethodsofmachinelearning,wetrytodiffertheseEEGsignalsintojoyandsadnesstoestimatetheuser'svalence.Whenprocessingthedata,weapp

11、lythetraditionalcommonspatialpatterntoextracttheusefulfeatures.Andsupportvectormachineisusedasclassifier.AnovelalgorithmbasedonBayesianisproposedhere,whichiscalledprobabilitycommonspatialpattern.TheresultshowsthatjoyandsadnesscanbedistinguishedbyusingEEG.A

12、ndwegavesomepsychologicalexplanationatlast.Thecontributionsofthispaperareasfollows:Firstly,wedesignedavisual-evokedrecognitionexperiment.SomeEEGdatawithemotioninformationwererecorded.WelabeledthesedataaccordingtoSAM
