1、ABSTRACTABSTRACTMTOSIstandardisaunifiedopeninterfacethatcanbeusedamongmultipletypesofmanagementsystemstoprovidenetworkandservicemanagement.MTOSIstandardcoversallcommunicationtechnologies(fromlayer1,e.g.,SONET/SDH,throughhigherlayertechnologiessuchasVoIP
2、).MTOSIfacilitatesapplication-to-applicationinter-working,reducestimetodeployment,andlowersthecostofownershipofsystems.MTOSIusesstandardcommunicationpatternstosupportbusinessactivitiesthatcanbeimplementedbyarangeofITplatformsandtransportprotocols.MTOSIa
3、llowsserviceproviderstoimplementmanagementandsupportsystemsquickly.MTOSIisdesignedtosupportserviceproviderrequirementsforanopensystemsenvironment.MTOSIhelpscarrierstoavoidwholesalereplacementsoflegacysystemsandinsteadallowsthemtointroduceandintegratepoi
4、ntapplicationsthatcanaddressnewsolutionsandservices.Basedonasystematicalsummaryofrelevantworksonopticalnetworkresourcemanagement,thisdissertationfocusesonkeytechnologiesinMTOSI.DesignandimplementaNBIserversystembasedonMTOSI.Themajorcontributionsofthisdi
