4、noredinvolvingintheirmarketingattention,messagesandprogrammes.Thefundamentalconcept-marketingorientationandcustomerorientation-combinedwithemergingmarketingtheorieswerereviewed.inordertohelpexaminehowdestinationmarketing,acommunity-drivenapproach,shouldbeimplementedwithinadestinati
5、onarea.Thisexaminationofmarketingandcommunitybasedtourismplanningsetaplatformforthisresearch.Thisanalysisexaminesrelevance,applicabilityandpotentialforanintegrationofthesetwopervasiveapproachesfortourismplanning.iiGuidedbythetheoreticalexamination,anintegratedcommunity-basedtourism
6、planningandmarketingmodelwasproposed.Inordertoexploregapsbetweentheproposedmodelanditspracticality,threedestinationareas(Phuket,SamuiandSongkla-Hatyai)inThailandwerestudiedandevaluated.Atthispragmaticlevel,thisthesisidentifiedimpedimentsconfrontingnationalandlocaltourismorganisatio
