3、ck,andtheevaluationofanactiveyawcontrolsystem.Inbothcases,theworst-casemethodwasabletoproduceunstableresultsatverymodeststeering/brakinglevels.1.INTRODUCTIONAutomaticcontrolsystemsarenowanintegralpartofmanymodernvehiclesystemsandhavegreatlyimprovedtheirefficiency,saf

4、etyandconvenience.Whilemanytoolsexistforthedesign,analysisandsimulationsofvehiclesandvehiclecontrolsystems,mostvehicledesignshavebeenevaluated/fine-tunedinabrute-forcemanner.Thisbrute-forceevaluationprocessistime-consumingbecauseonehopestoensurethatthesevehiclesworks

5、atisfactorilyunderallpossiblescenarios.Theevaluationprocessusuallyinvolvesextensiveexperimentsand/orsimulations,andmaytakeuptodozensofman-monthstoaccomplish.Further,thereisnoguaranteethattheworst-caseconditionhasbeenidentified.Thesetwoweaknessesdemonstratetheneedfora
