4、opmentofori-entalandwesternsports,theauthorsdescribedtheirdifferentcharacteristicsandthecausesforthecurrentstateofdevelopment,andpointedoutthefollowings:themaincharacteristicofwesterncultureandsportsistheoppositionpresentedinacompetitiveway,whilethemaincharacteristicoforientalculturean

5、dsportsistheunificationpre-sentedinaharmoniousway;atpresent,thecurrentstateofunbalanceddevelopmentoforientalandwesternculturesandsportsiscausedbyanextrinsicfactor-generalsocialenvironment.Secondly,theauthorsanalyzedthe“oldworry”–theimpactofdominatingwesterncompetitivesports,andthe“newt

6、hreat”–theapproachofemergingorientalsportsevents,withrespecttothedevelopmentoftraditionalnationalsports.Lastly,theauthorspointedoutthefollowings:thedevelopmentoftraditionalnationalsportsnowadaysisgivenunprecedentedopportunities,andalsofacingextremelyseriouschallenges;ontheonehand,ourna
