3、methodwhichistheringsystem,thispaperanalyzesthespatialdifferentiationcharacteristicofurbanindustrialland,residentiallandandcommunityservicelandinYanchengcity,JiangsuProvince.Itisindicatedthatindustriallandisgraduallyspreadingfromtheinternalcitytotheoutside;theconstructi
4、onoftheresidentiallandisrevolvingfromthesinglepeaktodoublepeaks;theconstructionofthecommunityservicelandisfromthesinglepeaktothemulti-peakinthestudyperiod.Kindsoflandscapepatternindicesareusedtoanalyzethemorphologicalevolutioncharacteristicsoftheurbanfunctionalland-usei
5、nYanchengcity.Bycalculatingthemeanarea,area-weightedmeanareaandlargepatchindex,itisshowedthattheintegrityoftheindustriallandisimprovinggradually,andtheintegrityoftheresidentiallandandthecommunityservicelandhavegonethroughtheprocessofimprovementafterreduction.Bycalculati
6、ngthearea-weightedmeanEuclideannearest-neighbordistance,patchcohesionindexandpatchdensity,itisfoundthatspacegatheringoftheindustrialland,residentiallandandcommunityservicelandhavealsoexperiencedtheprocessofimprovementafterreduction.Bycalculatingthediversityindexoftheurb
7、anland,itisindicatedthattheheterogeneityoftheurbanlandwouldappearenhancingprocessbeforetheweakness.Onthebasisoftheaboveanalysis,itshowsthattheevolutionofurbaninternalspatialstructureofYanchengcityischaracterizedbyobviousstages.From1984to2006,theevolutionprocessofurbanin
