3、ngcanbehighlysuccessfulindevelopingprogramswhichareabletoplaygamesatalevelsimilartohumanplayersand,insomecases,exceedtheabilityofavastmajorityofhumanplayers.Thisstudyusespokertoinvestigatehowadaptationcanbeusedingamesofimperfectinformation.Aninternallearningvalueismanipulatedwhichallowsapo
4、kerplayingagenttodevelopitsplayingstrategyovertime.Theresultssuggestthattheagentisabletolearnhowtoplaypoker,initiallylosing,beforewinningastheplayersstrategybecomesmoredeveloped.Theevolvedplayerperformswellagainstopponentswithdifferentplayingstyles.Somelimitationsofpreviousworkareovercome,
5、suchasdealrotationtoremovethebiasintroducedbyoneplayeralwaysbeingthelasttoact.Thisworkprovidesencouragementthatthisisanareaworthexploringmorefullyinourfuturework.1.IntroductionGameplayinghasalongresearchhistory.ChesshasreceivedparticularinterestculminatinginDeepBluebeatingKasparovin1997,al
