1、AbstractWiththerapiddevelopmentofbroadbandnetworkequipments,thedomesticdemandforthetestinstrumentsofthesenetworkequipmentsisbecominglarger.Avarietyofnetworktestinstrumentshavebeendevelopedabroad,buttheyarequiteexpensiveandinconvenientforuse.Thedomestictestinstrume
2、ntsaresosimpleinfunctionandinferiorinperformancethattheycannotmeetthedomestictestrequirementsofnetworkequipments.Therefore,thedetailedresearchofthemultifunctionnetworktester,includingitshardwaredesignschemeandtheFPGAimplementationsofitscoremodules,suchasGEpayloadp
3、rocessingmoduleandHDLCpacketprocessingmodule,isofgreatapplicationsensefordevelopingnetworktesterswithhighperformance/costratio.Thisdissertationfirstlyintroducesthepresentresearchstatusandbackgroundofthenetworktestersbothathomeandabroad,aswellastheresearchsignifica
4、nce.Secondly,itgivesadescriptionofbasicworkingprinciplesoftheSDHtechnology,HDLCprotocolandGE,andprovidesacomparativeanalysisontheperformancesoftheexistingnetworktesters.Thentheoverallimplementationschemeofthehardwareplatformofamultifunctionnetworktestertobeaddress
5、edisdesignedwithadetaileddiscussiononthehardwaredesignofchipsfortheSDH,AAL5andtestdataprocessor.Onthisbasis,theoverallschemeofthecorecomponentofamultifunctionnetworktester,testdataprocessor,ispresented.Thestudyemphasisisputonthefunctionsandimplementationschemesoft
6、heGEpayloadprocessingmoduleandHDLCpacketprocessingmodule.WiththehelpoftheAlteraStratixIIFPGA,thisdissertationimplementsthefunctionsofallsub-modulesoftheHDLCpacketprocessingmodulewithVHDLprogrammingandcompletestheoverallsimulationsandverifications,whichshowthatallt
