2、stCentralandEasternEuropeancountrieshaveexperiencedserious"transformationalrecession."Startingin1995,thesecountrieshavebeguntoresumegrowthinthelate1990stothebeginningofthetransitiontorestorethelevelofeconomicdevelopment,1995to2007areinthe3-4.5%growthrate.Theresumptionofgrowthaccompaniedbyas
3、ubstantialincreaseinproductivity,employmenthashadaprofoundimpactinmostcountries(especiallytheCzechRepublic,HungaryandPoland)slowemploymentgrowthevenatastandstill.Ofcourse,bythedifferenteffectsofreformrhythm,differentcountry-specificunemploymentsituationisverydifferent.HungaryandSloveniain19
4、95beforetheunemploymentrateisalreadyhigh,andthendeclined.Czechunemploymentrateislessthan5%from1996to1999,therapidriseofnearly10%,mainlybyitslaggingeconomicreformsandtheendofthe1990sduetothefinancialcrisis.PolandandSlovakia,theunemploymentrateintheearly1990shasbeenatahighlevel,eveninthelate1
5、990sto20%,followedbydecline,evenso,in2005thelevelofunemploymentinthesetwocountriesremains18%and16%.Weakemploymentsituationwithcountriesinstarkcontrast,since1995theGDPofthesecountries,especiallyintheeconomicvaluehaveexperiencedsubstantialgrowth.CompareFigure1andFigure2,itisclearthatchangesin
