4、sing,technologyandSOon.Theexperimentalresearchoffemtosecondlasershockformingmetalfoilsisconductedinthispaper.Theultimategoalistoexploretheprocessinglawsanddeformationmechanismoffemtosecondlasershockforming.Themainresearchcontentsandconclusionsareasfoll
5、ows:(1)Theinfluencesofthepulsewidth,impacttimes,confininglayer,clampingholeonthedeformationhavebeensystematicallystudied.Theconfininglayerscontributetoimprovetheshockwavepeakpressureduringthefemtosecondlasershockforming.Andtheconstrainteffectofconfinin
6、glayerwithhighacousticimpedanceisbetterthanthatofconfininglayerwithlowacousticimpedance.Therearetwodestroyingmechanismsofconfininglayer:nonlinearabsorptionandmechanicalburst.Itisadversefortheformationofshockwaveswhenthepeakpowerdensityistoohigh,because
7、theconfininglayerwillabsorbtheincidentlaserenergythroughthenonlinearabsorption.Thenonlinearabsorptionofconfininglayerwillbeeffectivelyavoidedbyselectingtheappropriatelaserpeakpowerdensity.Thedeformationwillbecomelargerwiththedecreaseoflaserpulsewidthun
8、dertheconditionofwithoutnonlinearabsorptionandconstantlaserenergy.Thedeformationincreasewiththeshocktimesfirstlyandthentendtosaturationwhenotherparametersareconstant.Clampingholehasnoeffectonthedeformationbecauseoftheultrashortpulsewidt
