1、ABSTRACTABSTRACTTheSubstrateIntegratedWaveguide(SIW)techniquewhichcanbeintegratedinthedielectricsubstratewithlowinsert-lossandlowradiation-lossisanovelguided-wavestructuredevelopedinrecentyears.SincethepropagationcharacterinSIWissimilartothatinaconventionalrecta
2、ngularwaveguide,themillimeterwaveandsubmillimeterwaveSIWcomponentsandsub-systemstakealotofmeritssuchashigh-Q,highpowercapabilityandeasyintegrationetc.Therefore,SIWcanbeusedtoachievesomemetaldevicessuchassplitters,filters,antennasasthewaveguide.Additionally,dueto
3、SIWcomponentsaretotallyconstructedbymetallic-viasinthedielectricsubstrate,thesecomponentscanbefabricatedusingprinted-circuits-board(PCB),lowtemperaturecofiresceramic(LTCC)processoreventhin-filmprocessandintegratedwithotherplanarmicrowavecircuitsandchipswithoutan
4、yexpensiveassembling.Comparedtothefabricationcostsoftraditionalwaveguidemicrowaveandmillimeter-wavecomponents,thecostsofSIWcomponentswhichdonotneedtediouspost-fabricationtuningareverylow,andtheyareverysuitableforthedesigningandproductionofmicrowaveandmillimeter-
5、waveintegratedcircuits.ThisarticledesignsaTE10-TE01modeconverterbasingonthesubstrateintegratedwaveguidetechnology.Thisarticleisdividedintothefollowingfourparts:First,designanddevelopmentofanewtypeofwaveguidetotheantipodalfinlineSIWconverter,thisconverterintheKa-
6、bandandW-bandhavegoodsimulationresults,andcanachievetheelectricfielddirectiontransitionfromtherectangularwaveguidetoSIW;Second,basingonthethewaveguidemodeconverterdesigntheoryandpractice,wehavedesignedanewtypeofSIWrectangularwaveguideTE10-TE01circularwaveguidemo
