2、S232interface.Asanindustrystandardofhigh-speedserialbus,thefirstlocationofIEEE1394isinmultimediaapplications.Inthefieldofvideoclassappliance,IEEE1394hasbecomeafactoconnectionstandard,andiswidelyusedindigitalvideocameras,digitalcameras,TVset-topboxes,gameplayers,etc.IEEE1394busalsohasm
3、adegreatprogressinnetworkinterconnection.TheIPcoreofPHYarbitrationmoduleisdesignedinthisdissertationbasedonIEEE1394b-2002protocolstandard.IEEE1394isaserialbus,sotherecanbeonlyonenodesendingpacketsduringdatatransmission.ArbitrationmoduleensuresthisfeatureofIEEE1394serialbus,anditalsoen
4、suresthateverynodeonthebushastheopportunitytosendpackets.ThearbitrationmoduleisthecoreofIEEE1394PHY,andisalsooneofthecorepartsofthewholeIEEE1394.ThedissertationfirstlydescribesthebasicconceptsofIEEE1394protocol,suchascableinterface,topology,buslayeranddatacommunication,etc.Thenitanaly
5、zestherelatedcontentsofPHYintheIEEE1394protocol,focusingonthetraditionalAlphaarbitrationmechanism.BasedontheBetaworkmodeproposedintheIEEE1394b,thedissertationdesignstheBetaarbitrationmechanismwhichisdifferentfromAlphaarbitrationandreducestheidletimeeffectivelyduringthedatatransmission
6、.ThedissertationanalyzestheBetaarbitrationmechanismindetail.Finally,averificationplatformissetupaccordingtothefunctionalspecificationandverificationspecification,andtheIPcoreisverifiedbyusingthetoolofNCVerilog.TheresultsshowthatthefunctionsandtimingoftheIPcoremeettherequirementsofprot
