2、arly1970s,saturatedabsorptionwasinventedanditcaneliminatetheDopplereffect.Sotheatomictransitionfrequencycanbemeasuredprecisely.Besidessaturatedabsorption,degeneratefour-wave—mixingwasstudiedtoo.In1972,HorocheandHartmanne1.proposedthepopulationdifferencegratingforthefirsttime.Atthesa

3、metime,degeneratefour-wave—mixing(DFWM)thatissomethingwiththepopulationdifferencegratingwasstudiedwidelybytheperson.ButtherelationofDFWMandBraggscatteringisneededtofurtherstudied.AndthestudywillprovidetheoreticalfoundationtothephysicalmechanismofDFWManditCanprovideahighersensitivity

4、spectroscopysignalforthestabilizationofthelaserfrequency.AbackwardresonanceBragg—scattering(RBS)spectroscopyfromapopulationdifferencegrating(PDG)ispresentedinthedissertation.Thespectroscopyhasanovelhigh—resolutionandahighsignal-to—noise(s/y).Thisprovideagoodspectroscopysignalforhela

5、serfrequencystabilization.ApumpbeampropagatethroughRbatomsinthezdirectionandtheotherpumpbeampropagatethroughRbatomsinthe—Zdirection.Inthiscase,astanding—wavewascreatedbytheinterferencebetweenthetwopumpbeamsintheatomicvaporwhichperiodicallymodulatesthespacepopulationdistributionsoftw

6、olevelsintheRbatoms.Andapopulationdifferencegrating(PDG)isformed.Then,aprobebeam,havingtheidenticalfrequencyandtheorthogonalpolarizationwiththeSWpumpfield,isBragg—scatteredbythePDG.ThescatteredlightisthebackwardresonanceBragg—scattering(RBS)spectroscopy.Themainworksareasfollowing:1、
