3、nattempttodefineandclassifylearningstrategies.Astoindividuals,differentlanguagelearnershavetheirownpreferredlearningstrategies.Alotoffactorsmayhaveaninfluenceonlearningstrategypreferences,forinstance,age,sex,secondlanguagelevel,personality,motivation,aswellaslearningstyles,ere.Amongstthem,langua

4、gelearningstyleisakeyfactor.Inotherwords,learningstrategiesdonotoperatebythemselves,butratheraredirectlytiedtothelearner’Sunderlyinglearningstyles(i.e.theirgeneralapproachestolearning)(Brown,1991:655-670).Differentformlearning,strategies,learningstylesareinternallybasedoncharacteristics,notperce

5、ivedorconsciouslyusedbylearnersintermsoftheintakeandcomprehensionofnewinformation.Comparedwithlearningstrategies,learningstylesareembodiedbylearners’typicalpreferencesfordealingwithlanguagelearningandtherefore,seemtoberelativelystable.Someresearchers(Ehrman&Oxford,1988,1989;Oxford&Ehrman,1989)ha
