2、springonion,‘Tianguang’and‘Zhangqiu’,weretakenasmaterialstoinvestigatetheeffectsofdifferentsiliconlevelsofnutrientsolution(0,0.6,1.2,1.8mmol/L)andsoilsiliconfertilizers(0,10,20,30kg/667m2Si02)respectively,onplantgrowth,yieldandquality,andotherphysiologicalcharact

3、eristicsbycombiningpotHoaglandnutrientsolutioncultureandfieldcultivation.inthisexperiment.Thechiefresultsareshowedasfollows:1.Theresultsshowedthatplantheight,cauloidlength,cauloiddiameter,dryweightofthetwovarietiesfirstlyincreasedandthendecreasedintherangeof1.8mm

4、ol/Lsilicon.Amongalltreatments,1.2mmol/LsiliconWasthebest,andthesingleplantyieldsofthetwovarietieswereimprovedby19.41%and30.85%respectivelycomparedwiththecontrolandinthetreatmentof1.8mmol/L,thetwovarietieswereimprovedby12.31%and22.79%.Inthefieldexperiment,atthetr

5、eatmentofsupplying20kg/667m2silicon(Si02),theyieldsof‘Tianguang’and‘Zhangqiu’werethehighestandincreasedby15.43%and25.69%comparedwiththecontr01.Moreover,appropriatesiliconalsosignificantlyincreasedthecontentsoffreeaminoacids,solublesugar,pyruvicacidofChinesespring

6、onion,whichindicatedthatChinesespringonionqualitycouldbeenhancedbyapplyingsilicon.2.ApplyingsiliconCanincreasechlorophyllandcarotenoidconrentofChinesespringonionandenhancelightutilizationefficiencyofplant.Amongalltreatments,1.2mmol/LsiliconWasthebest,thephotosynt

7、heticrateof‘Zhangqiu’varietyWashigherthanthatof‘Tianguang’.Moreover,appropriatesiliconalsosignificantlydecreasedthetranspirationrateofthetwovarietiesand1.8mmol/LsiliconWasthelowest,weredecreasedby23.45%and25.86%.Underhightemperatureofsummer,thetwovarietieshadshow
