4、/1635.htmAbstract:Thepaperproposesashape-adaptivewaveletcodingalgorithmforknownobjectofdiagnosticregionofthree-dimensionalmedicalimages.Thenewalgorithmonlyappliestotheshape-adaptivetransformationofthepixelsinsidetheobjectfordecorrelation.Aftertransformation,thenumberofcoefficientsoftheobjectisa
5、smanyasthatofthepixelsinsidetheimagearea.Toachieveaquickandlosslesstransformation,anovelshape-adaptivewavelettransformbasedonliftingschemeforarbitrarilyshapedobjectisproposed.Byanalyzingthelocationofinvalidcoefficientstransformed,thepaperalsoproposesamodifiedOB-3DSPECK(object-basedsetpartitione
6、dembeddedblockcoder)methodthatcancelssymboloutputsofinvalidblockorcoefficientsoutsidetheobject,specifically,onlytwotypesofsymbolsareoutputtoarithmeticcodingcoder.Forobjectregionofthree-dimensionalmedicalimages,theproposedalgorithmsupportsthelossy-to-losslessembeddeden/decoding.Experimentalresul
7、tsshowthattheproposedalgorithmoutperformsOB-3DSPECKby0.5dBontheaverageSNR.Furthermore,becauseofthereductionoftheoutputofonetypesymbol,thearithmeticcodingbecomesoptional.Keywords:shape-adaptivecoding;embeddedcoding;objects-basedcod
