2、ualsurveywasconductedonthephytoplanktoncommunityandenvironmentalfactorsinDapengaoareaofDayaBaybetweenApril2013andMarch2014.Thepurposeofthisstudyistobetterunderstandphytoplanktoncomposition,quantitativedistributionandannualvariationofdominantspecies,andtoknowthecharacteristicsofphytoplankto
3、ncommunitystructureintheSMLandsubsurfacewater(SSW).Meanwhile,phytoplanktonDNAfingerprintswereanalyzedbyPCR-denaturinggradientgelelectrophoresis(PCR-DGGE)technique.TheresultsfromthisstudyenrichedtheinformationofphytoplanktonstructureintheSMLofDayaBay,andprovidedascientificbasisforenvironmen
4、talprotectioninthisseaarea.Atotalof142taxawereidentifiedduringthesurvey,including132speciesfromtheSMLand128fromtheSSW.However,theShannon-Weaverspeciesdiversityindexandevennesswaslow,indicatingthedeteriorationofenvironmentsinDayaBayintherecentyears.Diatomwasthepredominantgroupofphytoplankto
5、n,followedbydinoflagellate,andfewoccurrenceofspeciesinothergroupssuchascyanobateria,chrysophytes,cryptophytesandrhaphidophytes.ThecommonpredominantspeciesincludedChaetoceros,Skeletonemacostatum,Pseudo-nitzschiaandLeptocylindrusdanicus,whichwerepresentedthroughoutthewholeyear.Meanwhile,Rhiz
6、osoleniafragilissima,Cerataulinapelagica,Guinardiastriatadominatedinsomeparticularmonths.Thephytoplanktonabundancewashighaswell,withtheannualaveragecellsdensityof662.07×10cells/Land1.48×10cells/LintheSMLandSSW,respectively.Thecelldensitypeakedinsummer,followedbywinter,andwaslowerinspringan
7、dautumn.AhighpeakofS.costatumoccurredinFebruary,whichresultedinwinterpeakofphytoplankton.ThephytoplanktonstructureintheSMLwassimilartothatintheSSW,andwascharacterizedbythedominanceofdiatoms,highspeciesrichnessandlowspeciesdiversity.Thetotalphytoplankton,diatom
