1、AbstractXMPP(ExtensibleMessagingandPresenceProtocol)isXML-basedreal-timecommunicationprotocolwithgoodscalability,itisopennessandflexible.Itisusedforinstantmessagingandon-sitedetection.Itwasabletosolvecommunicatewitheachotherofheterogeneousnetworkinterconnection.ItisstandardizedbytheIETF,andhasbecome

2、astandardsofinternetinstantcommunicationprotocol.LBS(LocationBasedServices)iscombinedwithmobilecommunicationsnetworkandsatellitepositioningsystem,throughaccesstothelocationinformationofthemobileend-user,toprovideusersvalue-addedserviceswiththesupportoftheGIS(GeographicInformationSystem)platform.This

3、paperstudiesisbasedondevelopmentoftheXMPPprotocolandLBSinstantmessagingsystem.Thesystemusesopen-sourceopenfireserverbasedontheXMPPprotocolasinstantmessagingserver.Openfireareadoptetheformofplug-indevelopmenttoextendeditsfunctionality.Themethodofobject-orientareusedindesignofuserregistration,userlogi
