3、ch2004;accepted11May2004AbstractAnewintegratedreal-timecontrolsystemwasdesignedandoperatedwithfluctuatinginfluentloadsforswinewastewatertreatment.Thesystemwasoperatedwithautomaticadditioncontrolofanexternalcarbonsource,usingreal-timecontroltechnology,whichutilizedtheoxidation-reductionpotenti
4、al(ORP)andthepHasparameterstocontroltheanoxicphaseandoxicphase,respectively.Thefluctuationsinswinewastewaterconcentrationareextreme;aninfluentwithalowC=Nratioisdeficientinorganiccarbon,andalowcarbonsourcelevelcanlimittheoverallbiologicaldenitrificationprocess.Consequently,asufficientorganicso
5、urcemustbeprovidedforproperdenitrification.Thefeasibilityofusingswinewasteasanexternalcarbonsourceforenhancedbiologicalnitrogenremovalwasinvestigated.Thereal-timecontrolmadeitpossibletooptimizethequantityofswinewasteaddedastheloadfluctuatedfromcycletocycle.Theaverageremovalefficienciesachieve
