2、ereusedtoevaluatepotentialcarcinogenicity,toxicityandmutagenicityofPAHsinsedimentsfromBSandAA.Majorconclusionswereasfollowing:TwelvePAHsweredetectedinallsamples,excludingnaphthalene(NaP),acenaphthylene(Acpy),acenaphthene(Acp)andbenz(a)anthracene(BaP)

3、,whichwerenotdetectedinsomesamples.ThetotalconcentrationsofPAHsvariedfrom101.80to1211.81ng.g~,withameanvalueof388.85ng.g~.ThePAHslevelsinBSandAAweremoderatecomparedtootherareasinpublishedresearches.ThecorrelmionwaspoorbetweentheconcentrationsofPAHsan

4、dthetotalorganiccarbon(TOC)(R=0.31,n=42,P=0.045),whichmayindicateanon—equilibriumadsorptionofPAHsonTOCinBSandAA.Theproportionof4~6ring—PAHsWasquitehigh.TheresultsofLMW/HMWanalysisindicatedthatPAHsweremainlyfrompyrogenicsources.Moleculardiagnosticindi

5、cesshowedthatPAHsweremainlyfrompetroleumsources,biomass,coalandpetroleumcombustion.Principalcomponentanalysis-multiplelinearregression(PCA—MLR)suggestedthatcoalcombustion,traffic(petroleumcombustion),cokeproductionandpetroleumsourcescouldbetheprimary

6、PAHcontributors,accountingfor53.O%,32.6%,10.4%and4.0%ofthetotalconcentrations,respectively.AnalysiswithSQGs(ERM/ERLandTEL/PEL)indicatedthatacenaphthylene,fluorene,phenanthrene,fluoranthene,pyreneanddibenzo(a,h)anthracenemayoccasionallycauseadversebio

7、logicaleffectsinsomestations.TheOC-normalizedconcentrationsatallstations,exceptforstation35,wereblowTECvalues(thresholdeffectconcentration)inbothBSandAA,indicatingthatlowadverseecologicaleffectwaslikelytooccurwiththeexceptionofstation35whereoccasiona
