3、seeffectscanbereckonedasexposuretosustainedelevatedtemperature.Thesustainedelevatedtemperaturemaybevaryingfromafewhourstoanumberofyearsdependinguponpracticalconditionofexposures.Theknowledgeonpropertiesundersuchconditionsisalsoofprimeimportanceapartfr

4、omthestructuressubjectedtohighintensityfire.Impactstudiesofstructuresubjectedtosustainedelevatedtemperaturebecomesmoreimportantasitinvolvessensitivestructureswhichismorepronetoattacksandaccidents.Inthispaperimpactstudiesonconcretesubjectedtosustainede

5、levatedtemperaturehasbeendiscussed.Experimentshavebeenconductedon180specimensalongwith180companioncubespecimens.Thetemperaturesof100°C,200°Cand300°Cforadurationofexposureof2hours4hoursand6hourshasbeenconsideredintheexperiments.Theresultsarelogicallyan

6、alyzedandconcluded.1.INTRODUCTIONTheremarkablepropertyofconcretetoresistthefirereducesthedamageinaconcretestructurewheneverthereisanaccidentalfire.Inmostofthecasestheconcreteremainsintactwithminordamagesonly.Thereasonbeinglowthermalconductivityofconcr

7、eteathighertemperaturesandhencelimitingthedepthofpenetrationoffiredamage.Butwhentheconcreteissubjectedtohightemperatureforlongdurationthedeteriorationofconcretetakesplace.Henceitisessentialtounderstandthestrengthanddeformationcharacteristicsofconcrete
