2、andconsequentlymisunderstandingandconflictmayariseincross-culturalcommunication.Thiscallsforourresearchintodifferentculturessothatwecanfindoutproblem-solvingmethodsandstrategies.Socialetiquetteisoneoftheproblemsthatareworthourattention.Itiswellknownthatdifferentcountrieshavedif

3、ferenthistoriesandcultures;therearealotofdifferencesinthehabitofconductsandtheceremony,especiallybetweenChinaandthewest.Intheoffice,tounderstandeachother’scustomswillbeconductivetotheexchangebetweenthecountries.Apersonwhounderstandsothers’ritualsandfolkcustomscanbeseenasrespect

4、ingforothersandcanbeeasiertomakeagoodimpressionontheotherside.Soetiquetteisthefirststeptopersonalintercourse;moreovereitherChinesecultureorwesternculturelaysmuchstressonthesignificanceofcommunication.Chinahasbeenwellknownas“thelandofetiquette”,andpeopleareconstantlyobservingsom

5、egenerallyacceptedcodesofpoliteness.Confucianism,whichhasbeeninfluencingChinaforthousandsofyears,alsostressesetiquettes,soChinesecodesofconductarenaturallyundertheinfluenceoftheancientculture.Despitethedifferentcultureandvalues,Westerncountriesunexceptionallyemphasizeetiquettei
