3、),akindofmodifiedasphaltlatelyusedinGermanyandJapan;andepoxyasphalt,mostlyadoptedinUSA.Epoxyasphaltconcreteisakindofhighstrengthandflexiblematerialbyaddingthermosettingepoxideresinandsolidifiedagentintoasphalt.Asapavingmaterial,epoxyasphaltismainlyappliedforsteelbridgedeckinU
4、SA,CanadaandAustralia,especiallyinUSA.ButthismaterialhasneverbeenusedforpavingbridgedeckinChinauntilitsapplicationintheSNYRB.Theseyears,theconstructionoflong-spanbridgesinChinahasdevelopedveryfast.ManypavingtechniquesofJapanandEnglandhavebeenadoptedinconstructingbridges.Howev
5、er,thesetechniquesarenotcompletelyapplicablefortheparticularclimateandtrafficconditionsinChina.Furthermore,thesteelgirderboxstructure,onceuniversallyusedbyforeigncountries,hasbeenappliedinlong-spanbridgesrecentlyconstructedinChina,andthehighesttemperatureofthepavingofbridgede
6、ckinmostareasofChinacanreach70℃.Sothepavingmaterialmustpossessthehighertemperaturestability.Thepavinglayerofmanybridgeswasdamagedshortlyafterbeingputintouse.Infact,thepavingtechniqueofsteelbridgedeckdependstoalargeextentonthestructureofsteelbridgedeckandnaturalenvironment.Dee
